Background

Jonathan is a Research Associate in the Low Carbon and Material Processing group at Cambridge University Engineering Department and a Research Fellow at Fitzwilliam College. He has a Bachelor in Chemical and Process Engineering (University of Canterbury, New Zealand), a Master of Philosophy in Engineering for Sustainable Development (University of Cambridge) and a PhD (University of Cambridge) with the title Engineering fundamentals of energy efficiency.

Jonathan worked for five years in New Zealand as a Process Engineer before moving to Lima, Peru and working in several consultancy and development engineering roles. Jonathan is currently employed as part of a five year project, WellMet2050, which aims to identify and validate all means to halve global carbon emissions from the production of steel and aluminium goods. He is the Environmental Officer at Fitzwilliam College and has supervised Materials IA and IB for many years. Jonathan is married with three daughters.
